Brook Benton(19 septembre 1931 - 8 avril 1988)

Brook Benton commence à chanter du gospel dans son enfance avant de rejoindre New York pour poursuivre sa carrière en 1948, notamment au sein du Golden Gate Quartet. Il se tourne ensuite vers la Rythm & Blues, devient auteur pour Nat King Cole et se lance dans une carrière solo. Son succès "A Million Miles from Nowhere" paraît en 1958, ce titre sera le premier d’une longue lignée de tubes. Il classera 49 titres dans le billoard US durant sa carrière entre 1958 et 1978, notamment le célèbre « Rainy Night In Georgia » en 1970.
