Bing Crosby a joué dans de nombreuses comédies musicales, et a même remporté l'Oscar du meilleur acteur en 1944 pour son rôle dans La Route semée d'étoiles.
Le plus grand succès musical de Bing Crosby est une reprise de Noël blanc d'Irving Berlin, sa manière de chanter a eu beaucoup d'influence sur d'autres chanteurs, notamment Frank Sinatra, à cause du son unique de sa voix de crooner. Bing Crosby pouvait atteindre des notes difficile à chanter même pour des chanteurs d'opéra. Il devient le chanteur principal du groupe dirigé par Gus Arnheim, la voix de Bing devient prépondérante, et est tellement populaire qu'au début des années 1930, 10 chansons du de Bing Crosby se classent au top 30 US.
Le style de Bing Crosby est un style de chant très simple et beau, proche du registre baryton. Sa voix basse et douce lui permettait d'atteindre des notes très basses comme le mi bémol bas.
Son style fut aussi influencé par son utilisation du microphone, en effet, cet accessoire lui permis de placer parfaitement sa voix de crooner. Bing Crosby chantait doucement dans les microphones fragiles pour éviter de saturer le son ou de briser les membranes.
